A PIN guards a profile's settings and stops anyone from switching to a more permissive one. PINs are hashed on your device (PBKDF2) — never stored in plain text, never sent anywhere. If no profile is active, FilterFlix falls back to the strictest rules across your profiles — it never accidentally exposes content.
Visual blur runs on free, unencrypted services (YouTube, Tubi, Pluto TV and more). On premium DRM services (Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Max, Hulu, Peacock) FilterFlix filters via captions and audio — it never bypasses content protection.
